The town square centre of Slovenske Konjice
The heart of Slovenske Konjice consists of the new and old town centre. Mestni trg represents the newer part of the town centre and was first mention at the beginning of the 20th century. The old part of the town centre represents Stari trg, which dates to the year 1146. Its speciality is Konjiški potoček (Konjice brook), which divides Stari trg into two likeable parts. Konjice was founded as a roadside settlement and had mainly transport-market character.
It’s always the right decision to visit the town square centre of Slovenske Konjice, whether it’s for a walk or to visit one of the museum exhibitions, to observe the town’s bustle while drinking coffee or to be a part of enthusiastic audience of summer concerts.

Žiče Charterhouse &
Gastuž inn
The Carthusian Monastery Žiče Charterhouse, hidden in the St. John the Baptist’s Valley in the vicinity of the Špitalič village, is considered the oldest Charterhouse in the Central Europe and the first one outside its mother countries of France and Italy. It was built in 1160 by the border count of Styria, Otokar III. Within its mighty walls the charterhouse offered shelter, peace and tranquillity to the Carthusian monks for more than 600 years.
Today Žiče Charterhouse is the monument of national importance and the most visible tourist and cultural-historical attraction in the municipality of Slovenske Konjice. You can visit it on your own or with a guide. There are four permanent exhibitions and a herbal garden. You can buy from the herbalist herbal remedies, made according to medieval recipes, admire the potter while creating and take a peek into his pottery studio. You can have also a meal in Gastuž, the oldest still working in Slovenia, dating back to 1467. We recommend a glass of Konjice sparkling wine, which matures in peace and quiet in the Carthusian cellars.

The Old Castle of Konjice
Castle of Konjice, known to residents as The Old Castle, is a medieval fortress from the 12th century. There are Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance architectural elements visible in the mighty castle’s ruins. The castle was built in 1175 by the Lords of Konjice, but through the history the mighty fortress changed several owners. The most known one is definitely the noble family Tattenbach. The destiny of the castle, which is today a mighty ruin, is strongly linked with the involvement of Ivan Erazem Tattenbach in a conspiracy against the Emperor. The plot was discovered and Erazem was beheaded in Graz. Today there is a wooden observation deck in the castle complex, that offers magnificent view of Slovenske Konjice, the Dravinja Valley, the wine-growing hills of Škalce, Pohorje and Boč. You can take a likeable Little Dragon’s educational trail, where the whole family can go and learn about the legend of the dragon from Konjice and about the rich biodiversity of the area.

Zlati grič vinery & golf course
The Zlati grič winery is located in the idyllic surroundings of the Škalce vineyards in Konjice. The cellar is one of the most technologically and architecturally modern building of its kind in this part of Europe. In the cellar you can taste quality and fine wines, they offer tours of the wine cellar to small and big groups, various tastings, regularly they organize Wine stories and other events.
Winegrowing area of Škalce offers unique golf course, the only one of this kind in Slovenia, the Zlati grič golf course. It’s a bit hidden from the eye, perhaps not the biggest, but definitely one of the most beautiful. The 9 holes are a big challenge for every golf player, and the rugged terrain of the Škalce vineyards is a feast for the eyes.
In all seasons the walk among the vineyards and the red rose bushes is an unforgettable experience, offering one-of-a-kind views to all sides, specially of the town of Slovenske Konjice, Konjiška gora (Mountain of Konjice), Boč and Pohorje.

Rogla
Rogla, the ski centre on the Zreče Pohorje, offers sport enthusiasts besides favourable climate and beautiful landscape a variety of winter and summer activities. A large scale of slopes, varying in difficulty, attracts ski lovers, while the groomed cross-country skiing trails offer an alternative. There is a sledding hill and a daily ski school for the youngest.
In the warmer months the forest landscape invites you to relax, jog, hike, cycle or have a picnic in nature. From 2019 you can observe the nature at Rogla as the birds do, while having a walk on the Treetop Walk Pohorje. Particularly interesting for children are the Pohorje Village, the Zlodejevo sledge and a walk on the Dwarf’s Educational Trail.

Center Noordung
The Herman Potočnik Noordung Space Technology Centre is located in an imposing building in the centre of Vitanje. Its architectural design is based on the design of the first geostationary space station – the habitat wheel, described by Herman Potočnik Noordung in his book in 1928. The primary aim of the Center Noordung is to promote space technologies and human achievements in space. A visit to this special building is extremely interesting and educational for the whole family. There are numerous exhibitions on display, you can try out the flight simulator, walk with VR Noordung among the planets of our Solar System and learn about the space through the carefully designed Space 360° concept, which approaches virtual reality without the use of special goggles. Welcome to Vitanje, not far away.

Oplotnica
Oplotnica is a small town with a distinct connection to winegrowing and farming countryside and is a true treasury of unique natural and cultural experiences. In the centre is an Oplotnica Mansion, which is called Žički dvorec (Žiče Mansion), because it used to be in the possession of the monks from Žiče Charterhouse. This beautiful building, with one of the most beautiful baroque stuccoes in the area, is located right next to a park with an old laundry. There local women even today preserve the tradition of washing clothes the old-fashioned way and are therefore a real tourist attraction. If you visit Oplotnica, you should not miss a walk in the Oplotnica Gorge Educational Trail.

The project that led to this important certificate was not only based on the application and the perfect fulfilment of all eleven requirements, but also on the awareness of the responsibility of all of us, who live and work in the destination.
That’s why we at Trebnik Manor believe that the only right way is the sustainable way. The materials used in the renovation that minimise energy consumption have a long lifetime and at the same time offer all the comfort and cosiness of living.
Our rooms and common areas are lit by LED technology with extremely low energy consumption and long lifetime. Hallways are equipped with sensors and timers, so they are only in use when needed. We renounced disposable packaging in the rooms and have chosen attractively designed dispensers for liquid soap, shower gel and shampoo. Our team is also made up entirely of Rogla-Pohorje residents.
